What To Expect
St. George
Yant Flat! I haven’t said “WOW” this many times since I listened to Dark Side of the Moon with headphones on. This remote and colorful area of Southern Utah can be reached from St George in about 1 hour/Las Vegas in 2.5 hours and Kanab Utah in 1 hour 45 minutes. The area is exceptional for both hikers and photographers and isn’t on the well traveled/photographed category of Antelope Canyon or Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. This area will reward you with the landscape images you are looking for. Constant views of Zion National Park as well as the multi colored stripes of CandyLand will keep you amazed all day.
Hike is considered moderate and is a minimum of 4 miles roundtrip to experience the area. Navajo Sandstone has been lifted up by the volcanic rock below and weathered into the well known domes located throughout Arizona and Utah. Brain rock or turtleback are some of the names given to this areas landscape but you might just be left speechless.
